Art is pain.
This is a popular sentiment regarding art, and I can't disagree with the notion. One's art is a physical representation of the turmoil they have gone through over the years, striving for perfection, for improvement, for any sort of acknowledgement. However, art is so much more than pain. Art is everything to me, and to so many artists. It represents the joy obtained from mastering a skill, the euphoria of success after experimenting, art represents the happiness from creating something from nothing. Art is more than only the blood, sweat and tears that goes into making it. I felt like I was stuck in purgatory as well, feeling as if I could not move, all I could do was keep grinding away, and I STILL CAN'T DRAW HANDS. As for hell, I can confirm that all artists have felt the sting of defeat and failure, when you're in a boxing match with your canvas, and you're bruised to all hell.
My experience at Dawson can be compared to these godly realms as well, with some incredible professors and fellow students I've had the pleasure of meeting. As for the subsequent sectors... if I had to choose between writing a 5000-word MLA-styled research paper in one night, and the blazing inferno, I may be tempted to give the brimstone a chance.
